An exhibition game, but a game where many, including John Wall and Bradley Beal, were trying to make their case to make the 12-man roster that will travel to Spain in the 2014 FIBA World Cup.
But, with 9:33 left in the fourth quarter, Pacers all-star forward Paul George went up to try and block a James Harden layup and got his right leg stuck between the bottom of the stanchion and the floor, suffering a gruesome injury. He would be carted off on a stretcher with his fellow USA teammates visibly shaken by what had transpired.
The scrimmage would be called out of respect for Paul George and his family. At this point, there's no official information on the severity of George's injury, but the NBA community, including many of the Wizards, immediately began tweeting support and prayers for George.
