As you may remember, a few weeks ago John Wall posted this to his instagram account to try and get the word out to #HelpMiyahMeetNicki and get a #PinkWig4Miyah.
Miyah, a five-year old girl from Washington D.C. who is currently battling Burkitt's lymphoma, has lost her hair from chemotherapy treatment and her wish was to meet Nicki Minaj and get one of her famous pink wigs.
When Wall heard about her wish, he wanted to help.
So, Miyah and her mom, Kadisha Telemaque, were invited to Verizon Center to shoot a video with Wall, which he then posted to his instagram account.
You can see that full experience in this video below:
So the stage had been set and Minaj responded immediately and wanted to fulfill her wish. She was recording a new album and had travel plans on her agenda, but Wall and her kept in touch and were trying to figure out the best time for this to happen.
After they nearly had the logistics worked out in LA, the eventual meeting came about in New York this past Sunday.
Wall said he spoke with Minaj's manager about when they were going to be on the east coast and once word came about that she had time at her recording studio in New York on Sunday, Wall bought a train ticket for Miyah & her mom to go see them.
Miyah took the first train ride of her life up to New York to meet Minaj and then had her dream come true.
She was presented with the pink wig she wanted and got to spend time talking with Nicki, taking pictures and got to eat with the pop star.
This was a great example of how two celebrities could use their power for such a great cause and make a little girl's dream come true.
