Wizards to Play Pelicans at Rupp Arena

July 31, 2013
Jeremy Hyman |

Although the Wizards official preseason schedule has not yet been released, it was announced today that the Wiz will be taking a trip down to Lexington, KY to the famed Rupp Arena to take on the New Orleans Pelicans on October 19th.  Home of the Kentucky Wildcats, Rupp Arena was the college venue for John Wall (Wizards), Anthony Davis (Pelicans), and Darius Miller (Pelicans).

This should be one of the more exciting preseason games and I expect the arena will fill up with Big Blue Nation supporters as the game is played right in their backyard.  Few college fan bases travel like the Kentucky basketball fans and I usually can spot at least one at every Wizards road game to see Wall play.

It should be exciting for Wall to return to Kentucky and play in front of so many of his fans as an NBA player.  Cool idea and should be a fun event.

According to Rupp Arena, tickets will go on sale on August 2nd.

The Wizards will play in Brazil the Saturday prior to this game, October 12, against the Chicago Bulls.

Look for the full preseason schedule and regular season schedule to be released in the near future.
