New Format to Las Vegas Summer League

May 1, 2013

Jeremy Hyman -

The NBA announced on Wednesday that they have tweaked the format at NBA Summer League for 2013 and will now have a single elimination tournament to conclude the event.  In the past, the event has lasted about 10 days with a predetermined schedule.  Now, after five scheduled games from July 12-16, all of the teams will be seeded based on their performance in the five games.  They will then enter a single-elimination tournament with the winner being crowned on July 22nd.

The Wizards have not officially accepted an invitation to Las Vegas this year, but they have participated in Las Vegas Summer League in every year since its inception in 2004.  There was no league in 2011 because of the NBA lockout.

Last year's Wizards summer league roster included Bradley Beal, Chris Singleton, and Jan Vesely.
